தமிழ்நாட்டில் பழைய ஓலைச்சுவடிகள் அதிகம் இருக்காது என்று நினைக்கிறேன்.
மலேசியா, சிங்கப்பூர், இலங்கை முதலிய இடங்களில் இதுவரை கிடைக்காத
சுவடிகள் இருக்க வாய்ப்புண்டா? சமீபத்தில் தொல்பொருள் ஆய்வாளர் நாகசாமி
டச்சு அருங்காட்சியகத்திலிருந்து ஒரு கடிதத்தை நகல் எடுத்து வந்தார். டச்சுக்காரர்கள்
தமிழகத்தில் வர்த்தகம் செய்ய தமிழக மன்னர் கொடுத்த அனுமதியே அது. தமிழ்நாட்டில்
ஏழ்மை, அறியாமையால் பல சுவடிகள் அழிந்துவிட்டன. தமிழர் சென்ற மற்ற நாடுகளிலாவது
இவை பத்திரமாக இருக்கலாமல்லவா?
