Dear Dr. Jayabarathi:

Is this manuscript in Tamil characters or Devanagari script ?
>From your request aimed at Bangalore Agathiyars, I suspect
it is Telugu /Kannada libi.

Is it possible to put out a xerox or photostat copy of at least
one page (leave) of the manuscript in the net ? I can ask the
local Kannada/Telugu speaking friends here.

N. Swaminathan

>>
>> Dear Friends at Agathiyam,
>>
>> Some time ago, our Dr.Kalyan referred Ms.Jennifer
>> from US to me regarding a manuscript. Ever since then, I have
>> been involved in helping her with the identification. At the
>> same time, insights to methodology, possibilitities, elimination
>> of unlikelihoods have all been given. We managed to get
>> other scholars involved in this work.
>> Now, we have narrowed down to a specific spectrum.
>> Further help is needed in this.
>> There are several Agathiyar group members from
>> Bangalore. We request you to help out like this.
>> Once you are willing to help, and also follow-up,
>> we will forward scanned images of the manuscript. Only
>> a few sample leaves will be forwarded. (The whole thing
>> is made up of 108 leaves of (?)bark/palm leaf).
>> We will then forward an address in Bangalore.
>> The print-outs of the images have to be taken there.
>> After suitable enquiries, see if the script and contents can be
>> identified by anybody there. Please give us a feed-back.
>> Thanking you in anticipation,
>>
>> Regards
>>
