Ekadasi is one of the Vratas for the Vaishnavaites.
Vaikuntha Ekadasi is the most important of all the
24 Ekadasis that come in a year.
Apart from that connection, for the others
Ekadasi is of significance as a day of fast.
I am sure you would have heard of the poor woman who
gives the Nellikkaay to Adhi Shankara? The back-ground
for "Kanaka Daara"?
