Dear Netters,

We have been reading about Hariharan and his
predictions on the Indian political situation - forwarded by
Manivannan.
We are not alone in this matter. Ms.Jennifer has
posted the following information. Please note the paragraphs 4
and 5.
Most Malaysian ruling party VIPs also beleive in
astrology and Black Magic. Irrespective of their race or religion
they resort to this. Many of them go to Madras to consult
Naadi Saastra or other astrological aids. In fact, some of the
important decisions and actions and events are fixed according
to astrology. Sometimes an underlying undercurrent of Tantrik
consultation can be traced.

Regards

Jayabarathi

>Dear Dr. Jayabarathi,

>Thank you for your very informative message. I am aware of another type

>Many years ago in Boston I had an opportunity to meet a seer from South
>America. She had never before travelled outside her village in Brazil.
>During her time in the U.S., she visited her great-great niece in
>Boston, who arranged a meeting for myself and my friend. This seer spent
>every (clear) evening of her visit perched on the roof of the apartment
>building, examining the sky from this new angle.

>Her method was to (on the roof) light candles, arrange a circle of
>eclectic icons (everything from a plastic Jesus to bone and feather
>fetishes, stones, ancient carvings, a key chain with a symbol on it).
>She chanted for a time, then shook a handful of objects (carved stones,

>An interesting piece of this story is how she came to be in the United

>This was during the first administration of Pres. Reagan. His wife is a

>that she consulted astrologers about government matters using tax money.
>This caused a great stir for a time.
>
>Thank you for providing some resources on Jyotish. I shall follow up.
>Some day I should like to hear how fate brought you to Prasna Tantra.
