This is totally different subject matter than the original thread

I get so incensed at any negative remarks made about Max Mueller

but for him the world, for that matter we ourselves, would not have known
about the ancient great literature of India. I find it upsetting that
anyone would say anything negative about him even if he goofed about the
time period. Are n't we fond of caliming ours is the oldest on Earth . We
were there before everything else. shouldn't 1500 be old enough proud of ??

should we have to demand of the world that they recognize the we or our
literature is older than that be it Sanskrit or Tamil. why stop with 5000
why not go for 10000 as it is claimed for the First Sangam period . why not
go for 20,000 BC... if that should make us more proud

With regards to that how can we be so sure about the time period preceding
1500 bc. it is all anyone's guess. I doubt anyone's assertive remark
concerning a time period earlier than even 1500 Bc. Nothing can be proven
or disproven. so anyone is either correct or wrong

I have a copy of Manusmiriti by Max M. In about 50 pages he describes in
great detail how we went about authenticating the version he found.

We can argue about the time period. But it is my opinion that but for the
westerners we would have lost a great deal due to our lack of appreciation
for things old and great

Even today we lack the appreciation for things ancient and do something
about it.

Even today we have yet to come up with good English translation in its
entirety of the vedas. Hopefully the RK Mission will complete their project
soon. The atharva veda which is supposed to have all the useful information
on math and sciences and other functional secular knowledge has yet to be
translated to be usefulfor everyone.
