Yesterday I came across passage in paripAtal that said a device (karuvi)
by the name of "payin" was employed by the n-IkAn (mIkAman, mAlumi)
to repair ships who had their sails (Ta. kUmpu) etc., all messed up.
Wish we had not lost the books written on such subjects.
