I know that you know the following, but still, I want
to summarize these for people less familiar with
these concepts.

Byte is a bad term that still persists. Though most
often a byte is understood to consist of 8 bits, on
several processors it may range from 6 bits to whatever.
The preferred term is "Octet" to describe an 8-bit entity.

The '1's and '0's are really states of a "bit" rather than
a byte. When a bit is set to "TRUE" it is 1 and when
it is set to "FALSE" it is 0.

These lead to the following technical terms:

bit = பிட்டு, துணுக்கு (கணிப்பொறிக் கலைச்சொல் அகராதி - க.க.தி.)
முரி, வார், நுக்கு (கொலொன் வலையகராதி - கொ.வ.தி.)
byte = பைட்டு, துண்டு (கணிப்பொறிக் கலைச்சொல் அகராதி)
true/false = உண்டு/இல்லை
octet = எண்மம் + முரி = எண்முரி,
எண்மம் + துணுக்கு = எணுக்கு. (ணு/னு மயங்குமோ?)
(மேலே ஆக்கிய இரு சொற்கள் இலக்கண முறைப்படி கூட்டப்படவில்லை.
குறுகிய சொற்களை உருவாக்கும் எண்ணத்தில் மட்டுமே ஆக்கப்பட்டன.)

விந்தை என்னவென்றால், octet, true, false என்ற சொற்கள் ககதியில்
இல்லை.

மன்றமையத்தில் (Forumhub.com) சுறுக்குப்பெயர்களைப் (acronym)
பற்றி உரையாடிக் கொண்டிருந்த போது, கொலொன் வலையகராதிக்கு
ஓட்டியல் (O.T.L. Online Tamil Lexicon) என்ற பெயர் வந்தாலும்
வரும் என்று கிண்டல் செய்தேன். அப்போது, ஒரு நல்ல பெயரை
நாமே தேர்ந்தெடுப்போமே என்று சந்திரா கேட்டார். நல்ல பெயரோ
என்னவோ, எனக்குத் தோன்றிய இரு சுறுக்குப் பெயர்களை இங்கே
தந்திருக்கிறேன்!

கணிப்பொறிக் கலைச்சொல் அகராதி = க.க.தி.
கொலொன் வலையகராதி = கொ.வ.தி.

உங்களுக்கு வேறு நல்ல கருத்து தோன்றினால் எழுதுங்களேன்.
