FYI:
Bharathi and bharathi dhasan both wrote marabuk kavidhai only...!
they both employed mostly Aciriya viruththams which are no less difficult to
compose than are venpAs.
A good Tamil poet should have no difficulty with diction or metre.
these intellgiences come as a cluster with poetic intelligence just as
engineering and mathematical aptitudes almost invariably go hand in hand
even though they are distinct aptitudes (the former is spatial intelligence
and
the latter logical or mathematical intellignce). So the unpleasant truth is
that
pudhuk kavidhai or free verse is much more permissive.

We simply have stopped supporting classical forms of art...it is a symptom
of
the illness of the society....just as we have neglected classic vlaues in
society.
Look at all the corruption...

After Bharathi dhasan only Kannadasan has been worth noting...
and FYI, thiraippA is not as easy as puthukkavidhai...it has to obey
a decent set of yAppu rules since it has to be *sung* with rhythm and melody
which
is the fundamental reason yAppu was invented by Tamils in the first place!
