Anbullah Agasthiya Friends
Thank you for your valuable information on the various novels that have
been produced as films and or as television serials. The television serials
are current and that would certainly make the job of the Library Promotion
Committee, of which humbly yours is a member,a lot easier. It is indeed a
sad day when we have to show these movies to attract potential library
users to borrow Tamil books which are harldy borrowed. One of the reasons
why young people do not borrow much tamil books is that the tamil books are
unattarctive and not contemporary in nature-well at least that's what some
of them say.
We are trying to encourage our people to visit the national and community
libraries. we are particularly interested in encouraging our children and
adults to borrow as many tamil books as possible. Steps are being taken to
put the books on line. In few months time, people all over the world would
be able to know the type of tamil books we have in our libraries and
perhaps even get glimpse of some pages of each book as well.
Thank you once again for your inputs and if you have more information,
please do share with me and the group.
