Dear Dr. Jayabarathi,

vaNakkam kaNakkila. On different subjects that you wrote:

1) Eri kAththa PerumAL temple is in Madhurantakam near ChengalpaTTu.
On the main road to Madras.

2)MuththukkuTTi Pulavar, author of KaNNuDaiyamman paLLu,
has written one of the finest satires in Tamil.
On a petition to Gods in dEvalOkam about atrocities
on earth.

3) You mentioned Thanjai Sataavadhaanam Subramanya Ayyar's
irAmAyaNa veNpaa where Thiru. Ayyar praises his patron,
a Nagaraththaar, in places where Kamban praises SaDayan.

There is one Thakkai RaamaayaNam, done about 1590 A.D.
Author: ThiruchengODu EmperumAn kavirAyar, Patron: Morur Nalla Thampi.
A one-third condensation of Kamban's 10000 viruththams
into "icaip paaDal"s (tharavu koccakak kalippAs).
Only the first 5 kaaNDams have been publsihed.
See thakkai raamaayaNam, 2 volumes, Dept. of Archaeology, 1983.
In these, Emperuman praises Mooruur Nallathampi where
Kamban praises SaDayan.

With the help of PEruur adheenam and R. SengOTTuvelan
(retd. judge, Madras High Court) and Thiru. V. R. DeivasigamaNi
KavuNDar family, I plan to publish:
1) Yuddha kaaNDam, 1650 songs, of thakkai raamaayaNam.
2) Kavichakravarti JayamkoNDaar's aathinaathan vaLamaDal.
It is also known as kaaraaNai vizupparaiyan maDal.
The only Lokayatha work in existence in the entire India.
(The other one, Jayaraasi's tattva-upaplava-simha is
more Mahayana logic)
3) Supradeepak KavirAyar's Palani madanaviththaaram.
Supradeepam is the teacher of Veeramaamunivar.
