I can furnish some information about the traditional
practices pertaining to 'muRai mAaman'. We can explain
the practice in line with cross-clan marriage. But the
origins and lineage are not very clear to me.
Dr.Ganesan might have more to say on this.
I will elaborate further when I finish the
intricate project that I am involved in.
