Dear Friends,
The following letter with a query on books
with Indian historical and mythological settings.
Thought I would drop a line and say hello.
Hello. :-)
I'd very much like to have the names of some
writers who have produced historical books
set in or around mythological India, Greece, Egypt,
Africa and Mesopotamia
I'm familiar with Mary Renault, and have
enjoyed 'The Assyrians" by Nicholas Guild,
and "Ancient Evenings" by Norman Mailer.
Although I realize there are some novels
written today which are more "mystery" type
set in these time periods (e.g. those by Lauren Haney,
Paul Doherty, and Steven Saylor) I really much
prefer the "epic" novels.
Any suggestions? Past or current authors
would be appreciated.
