Dear Friends
For the past few days, I could not send mails on several issues I
wanted to write about, due to problems with my computer. Nothing
horrible, but bad enough to cause harm for 5 days :-(
It is also a time to remind all my friends, on this and other
forums, to please have anti-virus s/w on your computers. You
would not only save your own computer from getting into problems
but would also prevent others as well.
There are some 59,000+ viruses or close to it now. And without
any anti-virus s/w on your computers and without the latest
updates, it is very much possible that your computer will be
affected by any one of the emails you get from your sources. And
please remember, some viruses are so deadly in their tasks, that
they destroy the computer completely. And without backup, it
could be costly for the user.
Please ....
1. install a anti-virus s/w on your computer
2. do not open suspicious attachments and especially do not open
attachments from names/email ids not known to you
3. if you already know from the name and extension of the
attachment file name, that it is a virus, please delete the email
directly. do not attempt to read the email.
Importantly, please delete the email from the "deleted folder"
also, right away.
Thank You
- Suresh
