What was the population of Tamils in the Sangam Ages when much of Tamil was
created? 100,000?
How come 70 million Tamils cannot maintain a language and culture that was
created by 100,000?

Accoding to Demographic scientists the Population of World at the Time
of Jesus Christ was 100 Million.
Tamils would have made 0.5% of this population-
This is because the Present day Population of TamilNadu is 60 Million
which is 1% of World Population of 6
Billion. And out of This about half of Present Day TamilPopulation must
have been originaly from Outside
TamilNadu(Bramins,Muslims,Telugus,Jains,Saurashtrians,Gounders,Pallavas
all may have came from outside
TamilNadu at various Times)
So we can say that The Sangam age TamilNadu consisting of Present Day
Kerala,South and Central TamilNadu
must be having 0.5% of World Population. That puts a figure of 500,000
This is around the Period Of Jesus Christ. Tamil Sangam Predates Christ
by atleast 400 years.That puts a figure of 1
Lakh as the starting population of Tamils
As far as maintaining the language, the Numbers have nothing to do with
Language. Today some 1 billion People
in world understand and use English. But , 6 centuries back (around
1400 AD)there were only a Million or so
English speakers in world; in England Itself, French was the language
of choice(Around 1300 AD , the rich and
elite in England chose to speak in French.). The rise of a Language is
related to the acheivements of its people in
various Fields. The Present day Tamils espically Politicians (who
agitate over non issues like Kannagi Statues ) are
the exact opposite they are the kind of People who can kill a Language.
English did not grow by Raising Statues
for Chaste women and glorifying submission of women to Patriarchy.
