Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche
tells the story of a retreat master
at a monastery in Kham,
who was close to his elder brothers.
This master had perfected the yoga
practice of channel, winds and essences.
One day he asked his attendant:
" I am going to die now, so would
you please look in the calendar
for an auspicious date."
The attendant was stunned,
but did not dare contradict to his master.
He looked in the calendar
and told him that the following
Monday was the day when all the
stars were auspicious.
The master then said " Monday is 3 days away.
Well, I think I can make it."
