Subject: [barathi_nataka_manram] Excellent Effort !!!
That was a Miga Chirappaana Kaaviyam today !! Wonderful effort by
everyone... Congratulations !!
I think this is the real beginning and a change for Tamil language and
Tamil events in the USA. Although I have been involved in Tamil related
activities for the past 10 years, I never even had one opportunity to
see such an enjoyable, Tamil suvai kuraiyatha Kavithai Naatakam and that
too Mahakavi Bharathi's work on stage. It deserves to go to an Annual
America Tamil Convention. We should do more of these in the future. It
not only satisifies Tamil interests of our Tamil parents, it will also
influnce our next generation (our Kids). Thanks to Bay Area Tamil Manram
for iniating this kind of programs.
First credit goes to untiring Mr. Manivannan and Mr. Madura Bharathi,
then to the rest of the CREW. In the past, whenever people wanted to
say about Bharathi or bring his message to stage, I have always seen
someone will be acting as Bharathi or dressed like Bharathi. This
includes the programs given by the talented and the respected Tamil
scholar "Americavil Bharathi" pugazh Thiru. Ilasai Sundaram(General
Director, All India Radio). But, what we saw today was different.
Bharathi appeared on stage NOT as Bharathi, but as every artist's voice
or dialogue. Lucky Artists !! Well done guys !
I didn't forget the Nice Music by the pros or the outstanding Costumes
or the Prompt coordination or the Lighting.
Madura Bharathi sir, my sincere apologies for ringing the bell 2 minutes
earlier to ending of your speech during Pattimandram..
My suggestion for future efforts:
a). Please ensure that the sound arrangements are good in advance.
Tremendous efforts we put in dialogues and acting will go unnoticed if
the mics dont work well or the sound system is poor. If the sound system
is good enough to handle up to 8 or 10 mics. Then each pitching about
$15.00 or $20.00 (apart from the costume costs) would help to rent 6 to
8 cordless mics. We have done this in the past. It worked before.
b). Few people in few scenes were not facing the stage well. Just an
observation.
c). First scene did not come out that well compared to other scenes
(probably due to bad mics or lack of a mic).
