வேடிக்கை என்னவென்றால் அந்தக் காலி என்ற இந்திச்சொல்லின் ககரம் உரப்பும்
(aspirate); பழகாத் தமிழர்கள் அதை எடுத்து (voice) ஒலிப்பது ஆய்வுக்குரியது!
பூரிஎன்னும் தமிழ்ச்சொல்லின் பகரத்தையும் திருப்தி என்னும் வடமொழிச்சொல்லில்
மொழிமுதல் தகரம் இயல்பானாலும் அதையும் எடுத்தொலிப்பர்.

வெங்கடாசலம் - வெங்கடாஜலம் ஆவதும் காண்க; பச்சி > பஜ்ஜி; கொச்சு >கொஜ்ஜி.

இது தொல்காப்பியம் ஏன் வல்லெழுத்துகளுக்கு ஒரே ஒலிமத்தை மட்டும் குறித்துவிட்டது
என்பதை கண்கூடாக நிறுவுகிறது. மொழிகள் இப்படிச் சாதாரணமாகச் சிதையும் வழியைக் கண்டு
அவையெல்லாம் அடிப்படையில் ஒன்றே என்று கண்டுள்ளார்.
