This is most amazing. Can we then understand "tirumAlaimARRu" to be
the Tamil word for palindrome? It seems reasonable since the Tamil
Lexicon says so (pace Peri Chandra). The Lexicon cites this patikam
i.e., tEvAram, 123, talaippu and defines the tirumAlaimARRU, by
citing yap. vi. pakkam 493 as

எழுத்துக்களை ஈறு முதலாகப் படிக்குமிடத்தும் பாட்டு மாறாமல் இருக்கும்
மிறைக்கவிவகை.

This is probably a typo? Does he want to say it is a

இறைக்கவிவகை

If the latter, then it seems this kind of a cittirakkavi was
attempted first in bhakti period e.g., by tiruJAnacampantar. I defer
to the experts on this point.

Is there any specific evidence of cittirakavi's in the pre Bhakti
period like for instance in the Tamil Classics?

Thanks in advance,
