இளமைக்காலத்தில் திருவைகுண்டத்தில் இருந்திருக்கிறேன். அந்தப் பெரிய மண்கோட்டை
எப்போதுமே எனக்கு ஆச்சரியம்தான். பெண்கள் உள்ளே சிறையிருந்தார்கள். ஆண்கள் வெளியே
வருவார்கள்.
கோட்டைக்குள் மறைத்துவைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறார்கள் என்பதாலேயே அப்பெண்கள் பேரெழில் படைத்த
தேவதைகளாக இருப்பார்கள் என்ற சுவையான ஊகம் எனக்கு எப்போதும். அதெல்லாம் இல்லை
என்பார்கள் மற்றவர்கள்.
இப்போது கோட்டை இல்லை என அறிகிறேன். கோட்டையும் அதனுடன் சேர்ந்த நம்பிக்கைகளும்
தகர்க்கப்பட்டனவா? யாரால், எப்போது?
