Dear Venkatesh,

The Tamil University in Tanjavur undertook the
publication of some old books. MiahaVidvan
MinaatchiSundaram Pillai's Chariththiram is one of
them.
Asian Book Publishings House also has reprinted some
books. Tamil Lexicon, KadiraiveR PiLLai's dictionary
and several other books have seen the light of the day
again. AbhidhaanaChintaamani was reprinted in the
early nineteen nineties.

PTSrinivasa Aiyengar's books on history are also
available.
In spite of the fact that they have advanced
technologies of scanning and filming and printing,
what is not understandable is why the books are so
very evry evry expensive.

If we are to revive these books so that the younger
generation would like to possess them, then these
books should come in cheap.
They are the other way around.
The price is a serious disincentive.

They should be subsidised and the distribution network
has to be improved.

Regards,

JayBee
