Dear Friends,
There was a literary society called 'Shakespeare Club'
in Madras in the second quarter of the 20th century.
It was started by one Mr.Kline Barlow who was the
editor of an English journal called 'Madras Times'.
English as well as Indian scholars were members of
the club.
Apart from Shakespeare, other poets like Milton,
Shelly, Wordsworth, Byron, Keats, and Tennyson were discussed.
There were lectures as well as analysis and reading sessions.
