ANTAL (Perialvar?) could have easily used kuRaLai,
if she wants to use and, could have easily overcome
any metrical problem in numerous ways. So
metrics alone "thaLai thaTTal" is not the constraint
for the great poet. The thing is only "kuRaL" is
found. We have to insert ("varuviththu") "ai" to
kuRaL and tell the meaning.
Your question is an interesting one. Most of my
TirukkuRaL books are with Sri. Al. Rammohan when he
did the major Tirukkural project for several years now.
Will get them someday and see. But, my memory is
TirukkuRaL like other 18 kIz-k-kaNakku works
is bracketed as Jaina by some Saiva authors.
As you know, kuRaL first quoted in MaNimEkalai
another heterodox religion (this time Buddhism,
remember Ambedkar opted for Buddhism).
In sum, there must be 100 ways in which ANTAL
could use kuRaLai in her TiruppAvai and still
satisfy all metrics rules. Why "thIk kuRaL"
is an interesting question. Have to see
all articles on this - well, some day.
