Anbulla Aravindan,
Glad to see that I have inspired you to take *action*. Please do the following to move:-
a) set up a group called erumbugal-tv
b) put Sydney Indran and me into the group; also get from Indran his "business loan" relationships; try convincing Sydney Mandes and Matthews into the group for their commitment, programming and process savvy
c) do not allow anyone into the group who is likely to be a non-group worker -- they will slow the process coordination by heckling and spreading hopelessness. Constructive criticisms from those who are *committed* (like a mother is to her child) to ant-bites, is welcome. But NOT spectator hopelessness.
d) dig up Erumbugal archives for emails on TV projects and send them to the group
e) put up resource materials (business plans, executive-team-in-waiting CVs, flowcharts, spreadsheets, relationship lists, timesheets -- the more of this in Tamil the better -- we have to bring Porulaathara/Vaalkai Tamil into action fast) in the Files Section
f) announce it to Tamil groups worldwide
g) Keep track of the time anyone spends on the project doing anything related to it, including research -- all this will be rewarded with a risk multiplier factor in Tamil dollars and/or in equity in the project
h) Be very very clear that all this is only possible because, from 1995, Thamil Innaiyam/Tamildom has risen at great expense, even though Tamils because of our anti-Tamil-innovation-funding mindsets, refused to contribute to it seriously, and continue to refuse to do so, from negative ground (compared to the English world that had confident mindsets, ASCII, a large pool of digitised English, jobs, and lots more as a base to spring from). That risk and costs that Thamil Innaiyam took *must* be compensated for, if we are serious about seeing lots more never-done-before inventiveness and risk-taking in Tamildom.
Set a target by which you can do above, and continually send summaries of discussions and action plans onto Erumbugal. Latter will provide intellectual property and inspiration for the mooting of other new millenia job-providing Porulaathara Tamil enterprises.
I would recommend starting with a biteable chunk, i.e. a virtual TV channel -- buy slots off existing TV stations to transmit Tamildom TV.

Anbulla Bala,
I am very happy after seeing your recent mails with full of hopes, actions etc
I have few suggestions after reading your mail captioned as "Bringing SUN TV to Australia and NZ..
Bala why not we think of our own satellite channel by the name Tamildom TV
As you know I worked many years in broadcast industry..Seen closely the growth of SUN TV and Raj TV.
Many of my friends of working as CTOs and Content heads in many south Indian TVs..
If you see the satellite TV market in South India there is no channel which thinks about the language and economic development of a race..
Your line of thinking will immediately click(economic transaction)..I have seen the success of Teleseen Marketing(Ranjan's company) from the day one.
Our target after this Kadalkadanthu vazhum Thamizhargal should target directly either product selling or services selling thro TV media by buying time slots in channels which is very cost effective say Rs 15,000 for four 30 minutes slots in Raj and Jaya TV during non-prime times say in the morning and nights
Or we can go for our own TV directly..The cost of leasing a transponder is very cheap say Rs 5 crore for annum for good foot prints .The Thailand based Shinavathara satellite offers around 3.5 crores/per annuam but uplinking facility will be from Thailand only(thats the problem).
Some Russian satellites offers still very cheap but again the problem of uplinking in this case uplinking is from Philipines..
Apart India now deepam and TNT are operating from UK and France both works of DTH model. They charge 10US$ per customer monthly..There were a channel called CEE I TV operated from UK went off air recentlt due to bankruptcy
If you show initial interest I can give more info on this line Bala
I wanted to discuss this during your trip to India itslef.Somehow our meetings could not happen for the reasons beyond my control
