You may find the above lines at the end of emails of people
who use this AVG s/w to check for viruses on their computers.
I urge you all to please read this review of this s/w by the
well recognised PC Magazine. It is given below.
It gives the highest rating to Norton Anti Virus 2002 edition and
the lowest rating to this AVG s/w.
So watch out. You get what you pay !
Without a good anti-virus s/w, you not only risk losing your own
data and your computer, but you put the computers of others also
at great risk too. It may be too late and too costly to know what
these missed viruses could have done to damage your PC before
you are aware of it.

With some 61,100+ viruses in place and growing, it is very very
important that we use a good anti-virus s/w to prevent any damage
to both our computers and that of others. For, that 'other' could
be you some day !
Apart from NAV-2002, a must have s/w - 'download accelerator'

AVG 6.0 Professional - By Larry Jay Seltzer
Product: AVG 6.0 Professional - Price: $39.95 direct
Company Info: Grisoft Inc., http://www.grisoft.com
Editor Rating:
Our award for most ironic product in this roundup goes to
Grisoft's AVG 6.0 Professional. This antivirus software actually
engages in viral marketing, scanning your e-mail and inserting an
ad for itself at the bottom of all outgoing messages. Besides
this notable feature, there's nothing that stands out as special
about the program.
AVG consists of several very different programs with disparate
interfaces. The main interface is powerful though somewhat
difficult to use. The scheduling interface offers some unusual
options, like the ability to run a scan in the background or
foreground and the ability to stop scheduled scans before they
begin. The free access to program and virus updates with no
subscription cost is dandy, but scheduled updates can be run only
once a day.
AVG's scan times were slow. But on our Content Creation Winstone
tests, the program had practically no impact on system
performance.
Grisoft also offers AVG 6.0 Free Edition, which lacks some
features, such as scan scheduling and product support, though it
has a simpler interface.
But since AVG missed six viruses on our Virus Detection test and
had seven false positives, even the free version isn't worth the price.
