Dear Friends,

Let me extend a warm welcome back to
Captain Govinda of Singapore.
A brief introduction would not be out of
place here.

He is one of the ardent Tamil-minded persons
in Tamildom. Now, a retired captain with the Singapore
Armed Forces.

He is one of the elders in Tamil Internet World.
In fact, when I enetered the Tamil Cyber community,
he was already there.

He has given moral support to establish a common
Tamil font. He is one of the veterans of the not-so-famous
Tamil Font War in 'redesigning the chair':-)

Four years ago, he started the Global-Tamil
email groups which was meant to cater for Internet
Tamils. It was a 'strictly Tamil only' group. Singgai
Palani, Krishnan, and I were regular contributers.
Palani's famous and immortal series - 'A Word A Day'
(naaLum oru sol) was the sheet-anchor to this group.
He also started groups for Hinduism, Islam,
and Christian. I remember Rev.Palmer was in charge of the
Christian group.
Apart from these he also had groups for women
and students.
All these, he did by he renting a server costing
thousands of Singapore dollars. His own money.
He also contributed articles.
He is an expert in numerology and gem stones.
He was writing on that.
But due to circumstances, he had to relinquish.
Global Tamil came to a halt.
But it was like the legendary Phoenix.
>From its ashes, arose Tamil-Ulagam - much stronger
than before.

Together, we will be discussing threads on astrolgy.
There are several people who are very much knowledgeable
in astrology. What say you, Kanagasabai?
As the saying goes, "avar avarukku athathu":-)

Regards

JayBee
