Dear Bala

Yes, I have seen Elizabeth films - one of them directed by an Indian
director - some Kapoor. You are giving too much importance than she
deserves. Competitive spirit among European nations of her day drove
them to national glory, worldwide colonization, industries and so
forth. But the same national competition brought them very nearly to
their destruction in the shape of two world wars in the 20th century.
That is what they have given up the old compeitive spirit and settled
down for European Union.

I agree changes in the relative positions of countries can come very
fast in a matter of decades; but it is hardly consolation for a
victim of a racist state to believe that after 100 years Tamils will
be great and powerful due to globalization
