Took Maturaapathi to be Miinaakshi, in consideration of
the following: Ilango aDikaL uses campaapathi as the
goddess of Puumpukaar. In parallel terms, I think
Mathuraapathi mentioned in Cilappathikaram refers to
Miinaakshi. Without mentioning Miinaakshi's name,
Kulasekara pandian in later times sings Mathuraapuri
Ambikai Maalai. Here also Mathuraa(puri) clearly refers
to Miinaakshi.
Are there any suggestions why Mathuraapathi is not
Miinaakshi?
BTW, the earliest accounts of Miinakshi in Greek sources
does not mention Shiva.
