Meaning:
As a thinker, what can I think of, other than
thinking about the holy Feet of my Lord ?
(I'm) Sightless, without any hold, other than
the ornated Feet to be worshipped and looked upon.
(You) Affixed nine doors (to the body), when (all are)
shut together I won't be conscious. (So)
Oh Auspicious, I am coming to Your Feet
Oh Meritorious residing at pUmpugalUr !
Notes:
1. This was the padhikam sung by the great yogi,
saint, an eye of shaivite awakening, sage appar,
as he prepared to reach the covetous Feet of the
Almighty.
2. The saint pleads to God to accept him at His Feet,
before the windows of the body were shut -
inactivating
the system. He prays to the Lord, before being forced
by the body to loose consciousness of God, to be taken
to the great state. The Supreme granted the boon.
3. kaLaikaN - support/hold; oN - fix/mount; okka -
together.
