Tomorrow is the month of aadi ( aadi masam) 17.07.2002 wednesday
Here is the summary and about of the month
The fourth house of rasi chakram is called as kadakam rassi which
consists the star - punarpoosam last quarter, poosam four quarters
and ayilyam four quarters. The period in which the sun travels in
these stars is called as adi month. This month comes in dhakshinayana
krishmarudhu.
In this month aadi puram festival which has been performed all over
place has been celebrated. People usually observe vridha(fast). Grain
liquid (koozh) has been given. There might be fire festivals also in
this month.
Aadi krithikai and aadi ammavasai have been observed in grand manner.
Aadi peruku vizha. Celebrate on the 18th of this month. This is one
important festival.
The month of aadi is a hot session (koodaikalam), so we human
celebrate this month by praying to mother (goddess) to pour rain.
This celebration is to mother Mariamman and devi karumariaman(the
goddess of rain).
Devotees prayers to mother is done so that can get married soon. Some
will offer koozh (koolu), flour doe (maa vilakhu), vepelai garland,
lime garland and many more.
