Friends,

Yesterday, ie. 10th of August 2003, there was a unique function
in Erode to honour the devotees who had dharshan of Maanasarovar
and Kailash.

The divine temple movement of Tamil Nadu in the name of
Thirukovil Bhakthar Peravai invited the devotees to the Siva
Temple in Erode. There was a special abhishekam and homam.
About 1000 devotees gathered specially to participate in the function.

Mr. Thennavan MLA (Erode) presided over the funciton.
Dr. Senniyappan, Dr. Thirunavukkarasu, Sri. Azhagappa ,
Smt. Annapoorani, Smt. Kamala Kathirvel , Dr. Malathi Elangovan,
Dr. Jayalakshmi Jagadeesan narrated their experiences and revalations
during the Dharshan of Kailash and holy dip of Maanasarovar.
I also spoke in the function.

There are five organisations called Chitham Azhagiya Sivanadiyar
Thiruvarul Manram, Thilakavathiyar Thiruvarul Manram,
Mangaiyarkkarasiyar Magalir Manram, Thirunavukkarasar Narpani
Manram and Thiruthondeeswarar Arul Neri Thirukkoottam functioning
in the temple . We co-ordinated all the organisations and
arranged the function.

For many decades Erode was a centre for ethiest movement because
of EV Ramaswamy Naicker. Today the EVR's relatives and main
section of the town are all the strong believers of God,
practically D.K. movement is irrelevant in Erode.

80 Kailaimamani, ie the people who had the Dharshan of Mt.
Kailash were present in the function. They narrated about their
experiences. Dr. Sengottaiyan and his wife Vasantha Sengottaiyan
have visited Kailash and Mansarovar 5 times. Last year they
stayed 30 days on the banks of Maansarovar. When I asked them
what made you to visit often and spending so much of money and
time? Their reply was very emotional. For each time they have to
spend Rs. 1 lac for each person. In spite of it they are drawn
towards Kailash often.

Mr. Sengottaiyan feels the Govt. of India is arranging the tour
programme via Delhi, Almora, Tibet, Maanasaroar and Kailash.
Every year they select about 800 people because of high risk
involved . Strong medical examination is conducted. Roughly 300
people are disqualified and finally only 500 people are allowed
to go to Kailash . This is the strain in the mind of the
devotees. Otherwise Govt. of India's route is safer and less
expensive. If we go through our Indian Govt. we have to spend
about Rs.80,000 . As far as he is concerned every one in India
should visit Kailash atleast once in their life. Last time when
he went and when he was doing Kailash Parikrama , the Kailash -
the Sivalinga is 6000 ft. tall. On certain points he cannot see
it because of the coverage of other mountains but whenever he
felt to have a dharshan and when he was directing his eyes
towards the Kailash he had a glimpse - for the real sincere
prayer - "Swamy Ettiparpar" was the remark of Sengottaiyan.

Mrs. Vasanth Sengottiyan says , "Going via Nepal , Tibet ,
Maanasarovar and Kailash is shorter in distance and within 17
days we can complete the programme.More number of devotees are
taken from Nepal. Last year about 3000 people visited the Kailash
through Nepal. When they take a holy dip in the Maanasarovar the
devotees feel that there is a great purity entered into their
mind and heart. "Normally each person spends 3 days in
Maanasarovar Parikrama and 3 days in Kailash Parikrama. Her own
personal experience is Siva talks to her in person while she was
at the feet of the Lord in Kailash. That emotional bondage comes
when we go nearer to God in Kailash. So again and again I will go,
was her remark.

Dr. Malathi Elangovan had another feeling when she was making
Kailash Parikrama and she felt that Siva had two crescent on his
head. But in all the songs of Devaram only one crescent is
described. With this question when she was meditating she had a
feeling that she should go to Thiruvaroor. After completing the
Kailash visit she went to Thiruvaroor in Tanjore dist. and she
was standing before Thyagaraja Swami - she had a thrill in her
mind, she saw two diamond crescent on the head of Thyagaraja in
Thiruvaroor.

Dr. Jayalakshmi Jagadeesan was staying on the banks of
Maanasarovar. Night about 3 o'clock she heard some sound. She
just came out of her tent and saw a miracle. From the sky
thousands of stars - glittering and powerfully shining - stars
gently coming down and took a dip in the Maanasaroar. This was
really an enchanting experience for her.

Finally, when I spoke I just mentioned a set of points that made
us to arrange such a function to facilitate the pilgrims who
visited Kailash. There are three things that needs the attention
of all people.

1. Every devotee who visit the Kailash is making his/her own
expense about 1 lac Rupee. Just like ubsidised air ticket and
other helpage programmes are given to Huj Pilgirms, for Kailash
Yathra also the Govt. of India must help the devotees . They need
not give Air ticket . But free train ticket, free transport
arrangement can be given, that is enough, the devotees would take
care of food and other arrangements.

2. The present route via Almora or Nepal takes minimum 20 to 30
days. If the same route is arranged via Ladak, Leh it will be
very much minimised. From Leh it is not days within hours we can
reach Manasarovar. So speedier efforts with Govt. of China will
make this Leh route available for the pilgrims.

3. Once great Tamil Poet Bharati sang a song - Mannum Imaya Malai
Engal Malaiye-This Himalaya is ours from times immemorial. Alas!
today even to go and have a darshan of Lord Shiva we have to take
the permission from Chinese Govt. When Kailash will become ours!
The real boundary for India is Himalayas. Not the Nepal border.
The other side of Himalayan foot hill must be the boundary. A day
should come - we should be able to have darshan of Kailash
without the permission alien country. The complete Himalayas
should be ours.

Finally all the devotees who visited the Kailash were honoured
with a special shawl by the respectable and age old visitor Mr.
Azhagappar. Then all were given food. Function was over.

Friends, if you have any suggestion kindly write to me to the
following email id: svagheesan@....

With regards,

S. Vagheesan
